Moments Within Memories

Hello, my name is Arsema I'm the artist of the artwork you're viewing right now for this project or artwork I was working on… with the idea of inauthenticity/authenticity. As one of my favorite, there was a lot of thought and reflection that went into the process of creating this.

 For the most part I would say that I tend to gravitate towards photography because it’s a medium I am the most comfortable with but with this project I stepped out of my comfort zone by dabbling with digital art and using that as a tool to kind of enhance my vision.

 In front of you see a couple of shots over break with my friends and I hanging out but what they are is just a piece of a bigger part. As they are just moments within memories hence the title. So while working on these a couple of things that inspired me was just asking myself what these images really mean to me. By asking that I really had the opportunity to reflect on the impact that these people in these photos had on me and the kind of person I am now. By seeing how they support me, how they challenged me, and how they do many other things but essentially helped me grow to be the person I am today.

With the doodling I used it as tool to enhance the image and bring it to life so viewers like you can kind of get a glimpse of those moments in those memories.

I think The Lounge really calls into the idea of being comfortable and being comfortable with yourself with or without others and relates the idea of being around your chosen family and your closest friend and family and just felling safe and seen in that space.
