Lumpy vessel is a coil pot I made in the craft studio. What makes it particularly “lumpy” is the thinness of the coils and how they’re allowed to fall into whatever form gravity takes them to. My goal was to make the vessel look crusty and old, like a sedimentary rock. Sedimentary rocks are rocks made deep within the earth that are the outcome of being compressed and weathered from many types of rocks, minerals, and climate events over many years. They are the most common type of rock. They are ancient, normal, and special at the same time. I created lumpy vessel inspired by sedimentary rocks.
