Illustrated Poetry

This trio of illustrated poetry really represents the first time I used graphic design for a non-commercial, non-client based purpose. It's an important step forward for me, using the skills I've developed through academic and professional work to create an artistic and fully personal piece. My inspiration came mostly from the poems themselves which I had written prior to beginning the illustrations. From there I sought to support the words with simple but expressive
cartoons, existing in and around the four panels that make up each poster. They each have meaning within my heart, as they were written in reaction to my experiences, but hopefully their brevity and ambiguity allow the viewer to find their own meaning in each piece.
