When I’m making art, I feel like I’m a kid again, playing the way adults do not. Clark on Ektachrome 100D captures a very warm chapter of my life when I started experimenting with Super8 film. It wasn’t a planned film with a script, crew or set. It was simply the product of going out with my friends on a warm fall evening and letting the emulsion soak in the golden hour light. It was about the excitement of listening to the first roll of film I had ever shot pass through my camera. I was playing to play and nothing else

Wandering streets,

Rendered colorless

I’m free. Free and,

Untethered from

The lands

I first found

Myself in.

But untethering

At such an early age

Means that

Home is not only

Far away,

But often forgotten.

I photograph

To find myself

Again.

To find home,

To make my way

Back there.

Even if it has

Drifted far away.

I don’t belong but,

I find home

In lost subjects:

The lonely,

The estranged,

and

The missing.

I’m lost and I’m found

All at once.
